That’s more my speed these days. It helps that my wife works for a hotel management company and gets employee rates at all Hilton properties. This weekend we’re staying at a Hampton that’s right next to the Space Needle for $29 a night.

True. “Roughing it” is when the the restaurant your eating at doesn’t have WiFi and you have to use 4G data in order ignore you partner and read Oppo.

Yes. This exactly.
I’ve done the whole tent-camping-commune-with-nature thing. Nature has bugs, it’s usually muddy, often too hot, or too wet, or too cold.
Give me a real bed, with soft sheets and pillows, wifi, and food I don’t have to cook myself thanks.

My experience with “camping” has been
Too hot
Too wet
Too many unhappy local indigenees trying to kill me
The hardest thing I now want to deal with is “ Why the hell did you put Bourbon in my Manhattan?”

Hey, you don’t have to have connections for luxury. In Tokyo I stayed in a 3x3x8 tube in a capsule hotel for the exact same price!
